The Evamere Elementary PTO will sponsor Reading at Evamere -Grade 1, a Parent Teacher Dialogue, on Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 PM in the multipurpose room. Evamere teachers will present an overview of the reading program and discuss strategies to enhance reading at home. There will also be time for questions and answers. The 2nd topic in the East Woods PTO Dialogue series will deal with the new, Standards-Based report cards. East Woods Principal, Ted Embacher, and Vice-Principal Jennifer Filomeno, along with some of the 5th grade teaching staff, will explain the new grading system, as well as show parents examples of the new report cards. This type of report card was implemented in grades 1-3, last year.

Mothers and sons from McDowell Elementary can attend the Annual PTO Square Dance on Friday, November 7, from 6:30pm – 9pm in the East Woods Commons. This event is for third grade boys at McDowell Elementary and their mothers. The cost is $18.00 per couple and includes dinner, photograph and a square dance with a caller.
