WHAT IS IT?
Coin Wars aka Penny Wars is a fundraiser where classes compete for the most points. Students bring in spare change, bills, checks or make online donations to place in their class bin for positive points and silver coins to decrease the amount of points in other class bins. Of course, in the end, everyone wins as our school benefits from all funds raised!

HOW IT WORKS
• Each class is assigned a collection bin with their teacher’s last name.
• Classes only compete against their same grade level.
• Bins will be located in each grade hallway every morning from 8:40-8:55 AM.
• Pennies, bills, checks and online donations at hudsonpto.org are positive points. All silver coins are negative points. Strategy tip: Place silver coins in other class bins.
• Please make checks payable to HUDSON PTO
• The money in each class bin will be counted daily and the points tallied. Point standings will be announced at the end of school each day and posted to grade level Facebook pages.
• We cannot accept foreign currency.
• We will have some surprise twists and turns during the week, too!
• The top 3 classes from each grade level will receive a class gift!

BONUS!! Rolled coins earn a +25 point bonus on pennies and a -25 bonus sabotage on nickels, dimes, and quarters!

For example: A roll of pennies will equal +75 points for your class (instead of +50), while a roll of quarters will equal a -1,025 point sabotage for another class (instead of a – 1,000 point sabotage).

Your participation and the funds raised help support programs benefiting all East Woods students, including Right to Read Week, field trip busing, Hoedown and Bon Voyage.
